11th September - Picked Jason Mraz I'm Yours as my video to base my work on

3rd November- this is when i first started my filming

Photoshoot

I will be using this video in my photo shoot as i think it is a really good photo as it shots my actor to be calm and relaxed which is the themes represented within the song itself so this picture will be good to use as it matches the mood.
I will also be using this picture for my work as it shows my character looking straight into the camera whilst he is smiling, which in my opinion matches the songs happy vibe. As he is looking into the camera you could also argue that he is connecting with the audience as he isn't looking away from the camera and when they look at the digipak they will be looking at each other.

I will be using this picture as well because it links in with the song itself because in the music video Jason is seen to have a back pack on whilst he is walking around during the video, so because we have a shot of my actor with a back pack on this could be linked in with the convention of the song.
I will also be using this image as another one of my images as once again he has his bag on his back whilst he is looking away from camera into the distance. I think this is a good picture because once again it links in with the song but lik all the pictures we see him in and around nature which is what happens in the music video.

Shot Count

In the video I counted around 250 shots that were used throughout the video which included lots of close ups, fast paced editing of different characters involved in the video to show the situation that is going on with the characters. Most of the fast paced editing scenes where montages of close ups to show the characters and what they were doing, this is to show the situation as the male is cheating with his girlfriends mother so these shots help us show the situation clearly. Laura Mulvey talks about a theory in which includes "the male gaze" which is when the females are dressed or shown to be seductive for the males to gaze at and in this music video the females mother is made out to be like this at times.
